Dark matter is INVISIBLE matter and dark energy is INVISIBLE energy. Dark matter produces an attractive force (gravity), while dark energy produces a repulsive force (antigravity). Together, they make up 96% of the universe. Yup. All of those stars, planets, galaxies, black holes, and neutron stars only make up 4% of the universe.
