The 3 main types of calendars are Solar, Lunar, and Lunisolar. The Solar Calendar goes by a full year when the Earth has completed one full rotation around the Sun. The Lunar Calendar is based on the phases of the Moon. Because there are slightly more than 12 Lunar months in a Solar Calendar, a year in the Lunar one would be 354 days long. The Lunisolar Calendar has Lunar months but the years are from the Solar Calendar.
Today is the Lunar New Year! That's what got me this idea!
