They cut me down with their words. They try and make me hate myself. For a time, I believed them. Then I realized, I'm amazing and special. You can't hate me for being me. This is a song about getting bullied, and believing what people say about you. It should motivate you to get back up every time you get pushed down. No matter how much it hurts, you should always remember that you're an amazing person, and nothing can change that. Everyone is different. We all have our own special light, so lets let it shine.
We were inspired from our past. I got pushed down, and was hated on, but I know that I'm enough. I'm me, and that's what matters. You can't hurt me for being who I want to be. I want everyone to know that you are enough, and whenever someone pushes you down, get back up and think to yourself, I'm enough. Don't ever change who you are because you're hated on. Everyone is special, and that's what matters. I made friends who told me I wasn't good enough, and they weren't true friends. True friends always pick you up when you fall, and they're always there for you through the highs and lows. You should feel like family, loving and believing in each other, because all that matters in life is love and happiness. When you figure that out, you'll always love yourself and get back up every time you get knocked down. The first verse is about how a girl is getting bullied, and she can't stand up for herself, so she loses belief in herself. The second verse is about how that girl starts to realize she's more than what people say, and she can stand up for herself. She gets bullied again, but this time, she stands up and fights for herself now knowing that she is enough, and she can always get back up and prove she is more than what people think of her. The last part of the song is when that girl stands up for herself, and starts to help others believe in themselves too. I hope you enjoy the song! It was fun writing about it.
