so a while ago i asked if i should host a dmc in a vote (the one with asuka’s sprite as the thumbnail) :O i got 12 votes and 10 of those we’re saying yes i should and that they would enter :OO i know i said i’d be hosting it when and IF i reach 200 but we all know i’m impatient so here it is at 150 :D (i’ve been planning this since december please don’t rain on my parade just because i opened this near when cara opened her dmc ;;) | controls: | click/tap a button to open a ref for the character's name listed. click/tap again or press space to go back to the menu. | what is a dmc? | dmc stands for draw my character. it’s basically where the person hosting the contest shows a few characters and to enter, people draw the characters. but remember this, i’m 100% not forcing you to enter ^^ only enter if you want to and have the time <33 | rules: | - the most important rule comes first. ABSOLUTELY NO GUILT-TRIPPING OR INSULTING YOUR OR OTHER’S ART. you may say you’re not particularly proud of your entry and it does not meet your normal standards, but DO NOT just call your art horrible!! doing so will result in IMMEDIATE DISQUALIFICATION! - USE YOUR OWN ART!! no tracing, recoloring, heavily referencing (pose references are allowed though ^^), using bases EVEN if they’re your own, etc.!! - this closes on march 3! any entries after that won’t be counted, sorry <33 - this should go without saying, but please use the refs. please please colorpick from the refs instead of using default colors or making your own. this will increase your chance of winning <33 - for this specific contest, please don’t draw any of the characters in a piece together unless it’s a crossover. manami’s from a different universe than mura and nina and mura and nina are in different towns so none of them know each other in their individual stories. however, I will allow you to draw them with others of my ocs if you want, as long as they’re from the same universe and you’re sure that they know each other :O (ask me if you’re not 100% sure <33) - yes, traditional art IS allowed!! - credit the rightful designers in your entry, PLEASE!! these designs are all by others and i'd want to see their designers get rightful credit <33 not crediting won’t disqualify you, but it WILL decrease your chance of winning GREATLY and result in me reporting your entry for not giving proper credit to the rightful designers (so please give credit to them ;;) - you don’t have to ask to join or tell me that you’re joining ^^ just remix to enter and you’ll be all set <33 | prizes: | 1st place : a fully shaded fullbody best mura: a shaded halfbody best nina: a shaded halfbody best manami: a shaded halfbody honorable mentions: possibly some traditional sketches :O (if i get enough entries to do honorable mentions ;;) | character info: | mura : murasaki chen is an incredibly fun and hilarious magical girl. she’s very extroverted around other magical girls. she is not afraid of what people think of her and can and will call an enemy a wimp to their face if she thinks they are. her power is invisibility and masking herself from society and it only activates when she has her mask on. (mask on shown on the bust shot on her ref) when the mask is off, she typically puts it in a secret pocket on her back. nina : nina is a calm and subtle magical girl. if you didn’t know who she was, you probably wouldn’t even notice her in a crowd because that’s just how she is. she is caring for those she trusts, but her trust is not easily placed in people. it can take days to years to earn her full trust. she does not make decisions on a whim and thinks thoroughly about anything before pursuing it. her power is long-range teleportation and it takes A LOT out of her. which is why she always keeps a big stock of grief seeds in a bag on her casual in case she needs to use her powers. manami : manami is an impulsive and social girl. she is known as the shsl stunt double. she is fairly athletic and very good at impressive stunts. she typically hangs around tsubaki, the girl she stunt doubles for, and she does not get as well along with people when she’s not hanging with tsubaki. if you spend enough time with her you’ll get to notice she’s not very charismatic and in fact, is not as social as her actions suggest. | tips to increase your chance of winning: | - do some shading - draw complex and fitting poses (these will add a LOT of points to your entry because i absolutely adore seeing these aaa-) - drawing more than one character will increase your chances of winning something - accuracy to the design and personality!! alright, that should be it. if you have any questions that weren’t answered here, just ask ^^
