When the school was built in 1862, it was just a simple three-story building. But the past nearly two hundred years have changed it into so much more. As the students body grew, so did the school. It started with little things. The curtains changed color. The tables moved. Chalkboards were cleaned. Then it got more complicated. Wallpaper changed. Flowers grew. Trees were removed. Eventually, it couldn't be ignored. Entire rooms emerged overnight. Floors were added and removed. Walls disappeared. But nothing could be done about it. After a couple years, everyone just accepted it and learned to come to school each day to a building that only resembled the one from yesterday. === The school usually changes at night when no one is around. It's a little shy like that. It's nice to new students, though, and makes fresh maps everyday, leaving them on some sort of table at the front of the school. It also can't change the outside shape or form (though its material and decorations can change). But it isn't limited to the apparent boundaries of its outer façade. The building looks to be three stories tall and it usually sticks to that, but not always. Sometimes it themes itself, especially for holidays. === Also this is mostly just to explain why no two roleplays explain the layout of the school the same way and why they shouldn't. It's not really meant to be a dynamic in the roleplay, but if you want… *shrug* === Here are some things that are in the school. They usually don't disappear. You may suggest more. I will be selective. (Several people are mentioned. They are NPCs unless otherwise mentioned.) Nurse's Office - Run by Mrs. Mildred Cherith, a sixty-eight year old woman who's seen her fair share of wounds. She has healing magic and looks younger than she is. Lone usually helps out in the large ward. (Lone is from @Illusion ; do not use him without permission.) Cafeteria - Sometimes a calming place to chill with your friends, sometimes a place to be bullied, this room is nothing but a simple dinning room where you scramble down some food and run. In the room are many tables. Some of them are claimed by long time students and their friends. Classrooms - These simple rooms have desks for all the students interested and a larger desk for the teacher. Some rooms have windows; others don't. Usually the classrooms have specialized equipment. Gym - This large room is the only thing the school changes during the day. From the outside, it looks like any other classroom, but new students are in for a shock as they step inside. The enormous room doesn't even look to fit the building. It is always making more space so that all the student are able to get inside and spar with each other. Unlike most of the things that remember the original days of Power School, the school prefers the students fighting each other to train. Racks of weapons and shields are usually provided. Sometimes, when the school is feeling bored, it'll turn the whole gym into a giant maze or something equally different. Library - Headed by Mrs. Ethelinda Trevino, who has gathered every book imaginable (and written some!) into a wealth of resources for students to learn about their powers and school subjects! (Written by ) (Name from ) Dorms - Back in 1863, Mr. Kingsley did include dorms in his design. But as time went on, the school grew to despise having to care for students overnight. It only left the dorms in the school until Mr. Kingsley's son, Joshua Kingsley, died in 1922. The dorms were gone before the week was up, and all the students possessions were left near the front door. Pool - There is an indoor pool sometimes. Sometimes it's an outdoor pool. Other times there's no pool. No lifeguard. Swim at your own risk. Sports Stuff - Courts and playing fields for all sorts of different sports occasionally lay behind the school. Unfortunately for some, there is no professional team attached to the school. Gardens - Upkept by students, the gardens vary depending on who has control that day. But don't let them get overgrown: the school doesn't like it and will delete them. Roof - A popular place to hang out. Just make sure you don't fall off. ===
Stuff that isn't part of the school proper: Driveway/Gate - In Sparksbrook, there is one bus driver who is an alumni of Power School. His name is Mr. Mack O'lando but everybody just calls him Driver (or Mr. Driver if they're the polite type) because of the only rule he and the bus seem to have: "Do whatever you want, but don't upset the driver." He comes everyday after school to pick up the students who need a ride. (Thank you to @Bronzeflame for contributions.) Sparksbrook - This tiny town nearby is inhabited by people who think the forest is haunted, which technically it is. Some old students live here as well as many of the teachers. There are a couple of apartment buildings run by old students who let new students live there for lower rent. (Thank you to @Illusion and an old RP for the town's name.) Forest - Students aren't allowed to go here and for good reason. Hundreds of thousands of destructive monsters are trapped in these woods. They can smell human blood and will make every attempt to attack and eat it. If you think a student can live in these wood, think again. (You may want to try the forest on the other side of town.) === Credit: Thank you to @Bronzeflame and @Illusion for providing some of the ideas found within.
