is this just me? I feel horrible sticking my nose into other peoples' business, but I would like to request for people to stop remixing AMVs over and over again as a "trend," since I feel like the song would lose its meaning over time. A particular example is Madeon's "La Lune." The song means so much to me since it helped me through a lot of darker times, but I feel like seeing it as a "remix chain" deprives the song of its meaning. Everyone executed their animations well, and I don't feel the need for people to unshare them or anything, but some songs can mean a lot to others, and I would hate it if they were seen as "generic songs," when they actually aren't. obviously, people will overlap in their song choice, palette and other things. I fully understand that. you're fine to remake, just personally it feels kinda sad looking at the "remake of the remake of the remake.... of the song [insert name]." i feel like people are just doing it because it's a "trend" and pretty much for no other reason. so yeah, take this with a grain of salt; i feel like I'm becoming more and more hypocritical with every sentence i write (especially because of 1:45am, which was heavily inspired off of typh's amv despite her request not to do so, and i didn't really feel guilty about it until now), and i think i shouldn't have the authority to say this, but i guess i wanted to say something about it since it was kinda getting on my nerves. thanks.
I always intended to make an animation of la lune, but I feel like it'll be hypocritical so I probably shouldn't. i later realized i forgot to put down a couple of important points, so I'm just going to put them here: I'm completely fine with about three or four remixes. that's completely okay. what I'm concerned about is when there's a lot more than that, and it spirals out of control. this basically turns the original into an animation meme, which encourages remixes/remakes. as a person who tends to regard those as two different things, i felt very uncomfortable with it.
