1. Press [LeftArrow] or [RightArrow] or [UpArrow]. This will compress the spring and set the direction to jump. 2. Press [SpaceBar] to jump. 3. Press [DownArrow] to reset spring. Try to climb up the platforms. You can jump UP through platforms, but Pogo loses a life when any part of his body hits a platform as he comes back down. (Sometimes Scratch lets him slide past a platform.) Your score is how high you climb before running out of lives. When the orange bar is across the bottom of the screen, you are immortal. GF resets high score. Hit [SpaceBar] at Game Over to play again and keep high score. [ KNOWN BUGS ] [I haven't seen these in a while. Please report if you see them.] 1. Sometimes the orange floor doesn't appear after Pogo hits a platform. When this happens, you have to jump onto a platform on the first try or lose a life. 2. Sometimes Pogo jumps in the opposite direction from the arrow key you press. Not very often, though. (This may be a Scratch issue, but I will keep looking for how the programming might be doing it.)
This was inspired by an arcade game called "Boinggg". All Scratch programming in this project is by JsnPrkr. FUTURE ADDITIONS: 1. Hard game mode - Can't reset spring to zero without jumping - Can't jump straight up (maybe) - Spring releases as soon as you let the arrow key go. 2. Moving platforms. 3. Tilted platforms. 4. Floating enemies. 5. Enemies that jump the platforms. 6. Easy game mode - Can steer with arrow keys while in the air - User aids like flight path indicator 7. Power-ups to grab for extra lives.
