The pictures belong to my family so please don't take them. :3 When I was nine, my family spent six months living in Norway (three months up north, and three down in Oslo.) And yesterday was the anniversary of the day we embarked! I've been reminded a lot of it lately especially because of the snow we have here. In the first place we stayed, we got three feet of snow on the very first day we were there! We also kept a blog while we were there. (Sorry, I can't link it for privacy reasons.) Here's what I posted six years ago today (the blog says at 1:34 am, and I know we were up at weird times for the first few days, but I think that's US time): "We’re finally here! (Sigh) I can’t believe it! It’s not what I expected, but it’s cute. And a lot more spacious than any of us expected. And it’s a little boring right now. Daddy hasn’t allowed us to play with the tennis balls we found, because he is trying to sleep. (Ug.) So I haven’t done much of anything yet except for drinking milk and walking in circles around the coffee table. And the only sport I’ve tried yet is driving [Ender] crazy. (No wonder. It’s 7:30 am and we all got up at 4am.) Of course, I’m an expert at that one. We had eggs last night. That’s because it’s a meal that we all like, we can make it well, and we know it will turn out O.K. (I even tried putting cheese in the second batch, but I didn’t like it.) Soooooo…. I may not know how to have much fun here yet, but, man, I’m working on it!" (Wow. Such a mature writer, wasn't I? Our stay in Norway was also the Fail Moon Era. Nowadays my mom likes reading my old posts best, because of the "insight" they offer, and I like reading hers, because they tell what happened. XD) And here's a joke post from my dad, called "Ya load 16 tons, and whaddya get?": "The past two nights I’ve needed to feel like I had accomplished something after getting home from work, so I decided to shovel the snow off the balcony on the back of the apartment. Now, I’ve done a bit of shoveling on our driveway at home, but this is a whole new ball game. I would estimate the volume of snow I have shoveled the past two days is about 12′ x 8′ x 2′ = 192 cubic ft = 5.4 cubic meters. Assuming the snow is about 30% the density of water (1.0 g/mL), then I shoveled nearly 2 tons. There are large error bars on that, of course, but you get an idea as to why my back is hurting right now. It’s a good excuse for a back rub, though." Honestly, I'm sorry I can't share all of my favorite posts with you guys. X3 Basically, this trip has got to be one of my favorite memories ever, and I'm really glad we did it. :D Seriously, if you ever get the chance to go visit Norway, you totally should, because it's great!
