UPDATE: The Tetris Mobile app got acquired by another company, which somehow made this game even worse than before, by literally removing almost every mode. I actually had some fun before, but now everything is basically removed. I would recommend fullscreen to read the store offers properly. Short(ish) TLDR at the bottom. Somehow, somebody managed to figure out how to break tetris, and also make it pay to win. This is basically the only way to play tetris on mobile, by the way. Firstly, the controls are broken. There are touchscreen controls. You drag the piece to where you want them to be, you swipe downwards to hard-drop, you swipe downwards, but slightly slower, to soft-drop, you tap the left side to rotate anti-clockwise, you tap the right side to rotate clockwise, and you swipe upwards to hold. This already causes a few problems. Sometimes, if you swipe downwards, it instead rotates, and if you tap the phone, it instead hard/soft drops. Addtionally, sometimes when you are trying to soft drop, it instead hard drops, which ruins t-spins. The other problem is that the game can only handle one input at once. You cannot rotate the piece as you move it. You have to move it then rotate it, or rotate it then move it, which when the game reaches levels 10-15, it is too slow, and you are stuck misdropping the only 'I' piece that you have and you have to wait another 12 pieces to get the next one. The only other option are button controls. Do they let you do multiple inputs? Sometimes. I have tested it. It sometimes allows you to rotate and move at once, sometimes it doesn't. I will now describe the items: Tickets are the only way to play tetris royale. Tetris royale is basically tetris 99 at home. You play against 99 other people, (but 90% of them are bots). Everyone is always attacking one person and one person only. If you happen to be attacked by two people at once, you cannot attack them both back simultaneously. In tetris 99, there are badges which increase your attack power the more KO's you have. There are no badges in tetris royale. In normal tetris, you need to clear a double to send one line, you need to clear a triple to send two lines, and you need to clear a tetris to send four lines. In tetris royale, however, you only need to clear a single line to send one line! Combos, and four wides were already very powerful to begin with, are now even more powerful. Anyways, you automatically earn one ticket every two hours, until you reach five. After that, you just have to hope that you get enough tickets from prizes. If you run out of tickets, you either wait 10 hours for all five to come back, or, you pay some money... The power ups: The yellow meteor laser looking thing: This power up sends 3 garbage lines then increases your attack power for about 10-20 seconds. With this power up, a back-to-back is enough to KO an opponent, and is very often the difference between 1st and 2nd place. The green laser things: Are your pieces starting to stack high and fill up the board, and you simply do not have the skill to downstack (or the very clunky mobile controls have gotten to you)? Well, fear not, as this power up clears the bottom 8 rows! That is 40% of the board! You can turn a game around, just by paying money! The blue sheild: Oh no! Wumbo is targetting you, and you are about to be beaten by a player who is 3x faster and many times smarter than you! Well, by paying a cheap price, you earn a power up that totally clears your garbage queue and protects you from incoming garbage for about 10-20 seconds! You are given plenty of time to build a back-to-back-to-back setup! Paired with a attack boost power up, this is the ultimate combo! TLDR: The tetris mobile app, especially the tetris royale mode is unfair and broken, 4-wides and 2-wides are overpowered, if you are being attacked by two people at once, you may as well throw your phone in an incinerator, the controls are broken, you can only play 5 games of tetris royale before having to take a short 10 hour break, and you are able to pay for powerups which are overpowered, breaking an already broken game. You know what, Imma go play some real tetris, like Tetris 99, Puyo Puyo Tetris, or TETR.IO
