The year was 1960, and Ruby was 6 years old. She was 6 years old when federal came knocking at her door telling her that "they would would escort her to school." There were many protesters waiting outside of the school. Many people did not want Ruby to go to school. This comes to show how brave Ruby was to go to school everyday with the mob of people. Ruby is now 66 years old and she still fights for what she believes in. Fun Facts: .In 2014 RUby had her own statue built in front of William Frantz Elementary School. (The school she went to.) .Ruby won the Janes Addams Children's Book Award for Books for Older Children .Ruby was born on September 8the 1954 .In 2001, President Bill Clinton represented her with the President and Citizens Medal .The day was November 14th when Ruby walked into William Frantz "Don't follow the path.
