My character is a radiated nuclear physicist who was part of a team that was attempting to access an other dimension that was extremely radioactive and could potentially have been a source of clean energy for centuries. However, when the project was going to be cancelled, they made a breakthrough, though not wanting to share it with their superiors in fear of being overshadowed, they travelled into the realm themselves. Misfortune befell their group as a massive radiation storm hit them and they attempted to evacuate, all 4 others of the group of 5 died, except for Doctor Dremis, who ended up being stranded there as the travel craft was for 5 people, and therefore he could not go home. He began absorbing massive amounts of radiation, even though he stayed in the craft as much as possible. Then finally, he came up with an idea to get more power, he was going to turn the radiation around him into energy. However, as he walked out of the craft, another storm hit him, worse than the last, luckily for him no shrapnel hit him, but he absorbed too much radiation, in a panic he began ripping off his Hazmat suit, leaving only the helmet and his lab coat, as he ran to the craft, his clothes were pulled off of him, leaving only the lab coat, the goggles and lower mask of the hazmat helmet on his body. Eventually, just as he reached the door, he collapsed. When he woke up he found himself back at his lab, in the surgery room surrounded by his superiors and several surgeons, they apparently got an alert a week later and went after them, only to find him there on the ground with his goggles, mask and lab coat. As they worked on him they found out that his absorption of radioactive waves did not give him any cancer or poisoning, but instead changed his brain? He suddenly felt a tug at his gut as his superiors told him so, and that he would be fired for insubordination "THIS ISN'T FAIR" he screamed, and then a massive portal opened behind him, and radiation blew out of it like wind, frying everyone but him...
