••• A birthday present for my friend who is on scratch and is my neighbor in real life. You may know her as Rose or @bundtcakes but I know her as much more. These characters were very precious to her, so I wanted to give her drawings of them. And I haven't actually posted anything in a very long time so here is a string of birthday gifts for my friend. Happy 14th my friend! Space/click for next costume ••• Story: The lights at Costco were always flicking in and out on the two cats down below. Martha frowned up at the dulling brightness, her paws on the rounded handlebars of a cart. Inside sat Carter, playing with some hair ties, seemingly untangling them for Lolo down the hall. Quickly glancing up, he signed something to Martha, who, clearly pleased, laughed along with him. The two young friends had their minds set on a movie night and had booked it away from Heather and Fell the minute they saw a chance. Now alone in Costco, a large store that one could get lost in, they were content on getting kettle corn and Fanta. "There!" squealed Martha pointing at a large bin of kettle corn. She wheeled the cart over and bent down, grabbing three enormous bags of sweet and salty popcorn. Carter smiled widely and bounced in the cart like a small toddler. Dropping the contents into the cart, Martha bent down for one more bag. Not seeming to notice that her hips had nudged the car into a downward spiral, Carter flew down Costoco halls without the slightest of screams. There was a clatter of motion at the end of the hall, and Martha realizing her mistake, put a paw to her mouth widened her eyes. Nearest to her was a pile of cans rolling across the polished floors. In the middle of it was an upturned cart, and Carter, a paw to his head. His eyes were closed and, his ears pulled back. "Carter?" Martha asked, dashing over to where he sat on the ground. Blinking, he looked around at the mess and flushed slightly. Glancing at Martha, who was inching her way, smiled. Then laughing, Carter looked away, embarrassed of his demeanor. Beginning to catch on to the ridiculousness of the situation, Martha laughed along with him, bending down to cover her watering eyes. Helping her friend up, Martha allowed him to balance on her shoulder before they were able to stand. Moving to the cart, hoping to salvage what little kettle corn they had, Carter noticed the shadow that fell over them. He glanced at it, fear in his eyes. "WhatwhereyouthinkingpushingCarteraroundinacartandthenthrowinghimdownthecostcofloors??Hecouldhavediedandlookatthis-" Fennec, a temperamental but pretty she-cat, was Martha's older sister and had a constant fear of losing her family. Seeing the problem, Martha came over to stand by Carter, her cheeks bulging at the sides, clearly trying not to laugh at the situation. Carter, on the other hand, was looking guilty. Fennec was wearing a cotton green turtleneck that cinched to her sides, her earrings blazing in the lights. Pausing to catch her breath, Carter took the opportunity to apologize through sign. Fennec narrowed her green eyes at him, not pleased with either of them. Though, a savior came to help them when there was a small commotion from behind. Heather had knocked over a basket, trying to carry both Micha and her grocery's in her hands. Fell came rushing over, taking the groceries from her wife's paws. "Careful, we don't want you dropping Micha," Fell said softly, bending down to Heather, who giggled lightly. "Now what's, with all this noise?" Fell barked, bringing her full attention to her children, who broke out into an argument. Heather had the rest of the triplets into full view, very happy that they had begun to walk. Coming forward to ease the tension of the Glace family Heather began to speak with Fennec about cooling down. Reluctantly, Fennec fell away from the mess to find Lolo. With a small look back, Heather smiled briefly at Martha and Carter, before taking the triplets to the other hallway. "Clean up your mess, and retrieve your cart," Fell instructed. "I'll see in the meat aisle in ten minutes," curtly leaving them be. Bending down with a grumble, Martha glanced over at Carter, who was on the verge of laughter. Quickly looking away, they exploded and laughed with eager hope. •••
Artist Notes: 1) Actually I was pretty okay with how this one turned out, apart from Carter's eyes and sweater. The background is supposed to look like that, and yes I was using a chibi style to make them look cuter. Or at least I thought it was 2) Obviously not my best work, but basically a more cartoonish notion to the story above ^^ 3) Ah yes, my atrocious cans lying next to Carter who has fallen from his cart. Okay so the irony of this is that his name is CARTer but whatever, I thought it was funny :eyes: hope he looks okay :pensive: 4) Another cartoonish one that looks sort of chibi~ idk xD 5-6) Okay so basically a shadow just appears over them, because haha! I'm lazy as fart cakes 7) Ouchie, hawt fennec 8) OKay run this is an angry fennec, and yeah my handwriting sucks and yes she looks better in the other frames but deal with it :D ••• First: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/493641161/ Next: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/493690060/ Previous: None ^^ ••• Credits: Carter: @bundtcakes/Rose Martha and Fennec: I believe @-birdlike- though I am not sure, and @carnation-sky on DA Art: @--Esthetique Song: Singing in the Shower: Becky G Not currently done ^^^
