HI! So I be writing a storeh for SWC! (Scratch Writing Camp) AND I wanted to share what I have so far :3 STOREH: Ear piercing shrieks surrounded us as I watched a swarm of sparrows fly across the setting sun. I was heading over to London with my Aunt Louisa, who was constantly nagging me to sit up straight. We rode through a treeless wood where I could see the cloudless sky very clearly on our horse and carriage. I was ecstatic! Aunt Louisa promised to take me to London on my 12th birthday! As the first star in the sky appeared I always believed that it was the person you treasured the most that has passed away, in my case it was my Mother, I always knew that the first star was my Mother, it had a soft glow like her skin and a slight twinkle like in her eyes when she laughed. My Father always said that he named me Robin for a reason, because I resembled the appearance of one, fiery red hair, innocent brown eyes and pale porcelain skin. I stopped daydreaming as the horses came to a sudden stop. The air grew thick and heavy, making me gasp for air. I heard the loud chatter of people and the yelling of sales men and women coming from all different directions as if it were a competition, but what they were selling smelled as terrible as what the horses had left behind. ‘LONDON’ I spun on my toes as I read the particularly large sign. Dozens of rats crawled the streets, making aunt Louisa squeal now and then. But no one took any notice as if it were something that happened often around here. Crows perched on the tops of drain pipes, watching people in very close detail as if they were spying on them. I retracted my gaze as one of the crows flicked their head around and deeply inspected me. Ignoring the crows, I beamed as I looked around the bustling city. People were looking at me as if I was mad, some turning their backs and pretending I wasn’t there, and some just staring at me gaping. We made our way to Papa’s apartment making several wrong turns, we asked a stranger for directions and had to run away before he spat on us. Startling aunt Louisa as I pulled her blouse sleeve to step back. We wandered down a grimy ally full to the brim with rats and cockroaches. ,”Are you sure there is no other way to get to the apartment?” aunt Louisa trembled as she spoke in her pristine british accent, her face as pale as a china doll. “Well this is the only way that the man told us.” I said rolling my eyes at her foolishness. “Besides there only-” I tried to say, before I was interrupted by an alarmed yell. I saw two men swarming a young boy, I couldn't make out his face but I could tell he was tall. After they threw all of his belongings to the roach infested floor they hit him on the head with a wooden bat! The two men picked him up by the shoulders and carried him over to a man spitting them orders. One of the men was bald and had a hunched back making him look a bit like a snail. While the other was the complete opposite, he had an extensive, tangled beard and was as thin as a twig. But the man instructing the two men made me stop and stare. He looked like he was in his late 20s, his black hair, curled to be perfectly aligned with his left eyebrow. He was wearing a black under-shirt with a brown jacket; his collar sticking out. I could see his scuffed shoes had some dead cockroaches stuck on the bottom. But what really caught my eye was the stained, black blindfold covering his eyes. He only noticed me when aunt Louisa squealed as a rat ran over her foot. His head darted over to us kind of like the crows. The corners of his mouth slid up into a grimace. “Hello!” Aunt Louisa chirped. I just gaped, she obviously didn’t see the boy get manhandled! The man ignored her and just kept staring at me, well at least I think he was. Even though he was blindfolded, it felt as if he was staring right into my soul. Like in a matter of seconds, he knew all of my secrets. All I got so far! Hugs xx
