Alpha is the first ship you will command. Alpha class is the most effective corvette in the systems. Excellent thrust, high endurance, heavy titanium plating, what can one want more from a ship? Capable of mounting all tier 1 weapons. Has phase shift ability, short-range teleport. Beta is unlocked after playing for about ten minutes. Beta class was originally commissioned as a cargo hauler. War broke out, and the surprisingly vast cargo hold was filled to the brim with rail capacitors and reactors. Now it is seen actively of frontlines, escorting ships, even as a landing craft. Since it wasnt originally a warships, additional power cores had to rely on good old absolute zero cooling... they were exposed to space. That proved to be an effective means of cooling, enabling even larger cores and stronger shields. It's ability is impulse wave, desintegrating projectiles 600m away. Can mount all tier 1 and 2 weapons and tier 3 light weapons. Gamma is end-game ship. Gamma class is first battleship in the navy. Captains of other, smaller crafts, originally looked at it's massive hull with laughter: "So someone put a big railswarm on a tin can, now that's a battleship? I bet I can pierce that paper armour with my own ion beam! 100 credits, what ya say?" And... the overly-confident captain lost his credits. The gamma class merges all technologies actively used in one really big ship. Instead of central power core, it relies on side conduits to make sure loose electrons go the way they should. After the bet, it was a mainstay in the fleet, it's shielding and armour are still unmatched. Can mount all weapons.
Finally some progres on the new game I've been doing for a while. All graphics by me. OST from "Factorio" At a certain point, I realised alpha and beta are significantly brighter than gamma. I called that "galvanized armour" on the gamma, and remembered to double-check the color picker next time.
