----- Click/Press any key to see me try use 3 different art styles! ---- Over the years, I've been told that my art style is nice, which I am thankful for, but... I'm currently having a little dilemma. I've recently been trying to use many different art styles (like the ones for Gorillaz, the Mystery Skulls music videos, Hollow Knight, JJBA, and BNHA) and I've noticed that they all have a distinct genre or category for their style. It's easy for me to pin down what makes their styles unique and the signature aspects of that style which make it stand out. That all got me thinking about what my art style is like... and after staring at my ceiling for too long at 2AM, listening to "no thoughts, head empty" playlists on YouTube... I suddenly realized something. My art style doesn't have a category! It's hard to describe! It looks unique but it also looks like many other styles at the same time! It's so simple yet complex! It's easy to draw, but difficult to get right! ... As you might be able to tell, all of this made me freak out. I decided to try to imitate two of my Scratch friends ( @MischievousMaster (Advritz) and @53-Rougue_Draws-79 (Rougue)) since I think their art styles have a few qualities similar to mine (but still look very different,) hoping that it'd help me find some direction, however... It didn't help at all and now I'm even more lost and confused. ----- Guys, I need your help. Please try to describe my art style. Try to give it a definite genre/category. Try to explain what types of famous art styles it looks like the most. Try to point out aspects of my style that make it unique. Please, I don't want to sound desperate, but... I-I'm so lost right now... ;w; ----- Quick questions you might want answered! Q: How did you get your art style? A: Honestly, I have no idea... I've had this art style since late 2015, so I forgot a lot of the things I did before I "got" it. I first started out trying to imitate anime art styles when I went through an *intense* anime phase, and over time, I just made my own style... It just happened naturally :P Q: What/Who inspired your art style? A: Other than anime (as I stated earlier,) I am also inspired by famous YouTube artists. The main ones I look up to are Lavendertowne (Haley,) DrawingWiffWaffles (Rin,) Lovesoup (Sai,) and Kasey Golden. However, my art style looks *nothing* like theirs, so I have no idea how I was able to gain inspiration from them to make my style. I was also inspired by video games like Pokemon, Yokai Watch, and Undertale. Q: How would *you* describe your art style? A: Hmmm... I'm not sure, but I'd say it is definitely cartoony. I'm not sure if it leans more towards looking like stereotypical/prominent Western or Asian cartoons though... Q: How many art styles do you have? A: I guess I have 3 main ones– I have what I call my "normal" style (which I use for the majority of my drawings,) my "chibi/animal crossing style," and my "goofy chaotic chibi style" (which is constantly changing) which I use for the project thumbnails that have Cimmi in them. ----- ----- Q: ... 日本語で良い? A: 日本語で良いですよ。でも、英語でお願い!グーグル翻訳はダメです! -----
