Note: Not all men are bad and in fact some men stand up for women for their rights. When this poem says "them", it is talking about those who think negatively about women. Women still get treated differently even today. PRESS SPACE OR RIGHT ARROW TO GO NEXT SIDE
Thanks for rhymezone.come for helping me with rhyming POEM HERE: I am a woman I look at the other men I don’t see any congresswoman or policewoman We are treated like a bunch of hens! The discrimination is a burden Everywhere i go, again and again Men have the right to vote Men have the right to own property What about our vote? What about our stand in our country! Oh they think it is funny! I look at them Then i look at me They think we are dumb? They think we are numb? Anger rushes through me Fear overpowers me Who is going to stand up? Might as well just give up? One thing they don’t understand There is no difference between us I keep repeating it to myself Again and again I ask my mom Bout the madness She hits me with her palm Then looks at me with sadness Mumbles something about unfair society I ask Will we get our rights? Our freedom? I don’t take no for an answer I see women like Susan B. Anthony People like Frida Kahlo Protesting with rationality Against our brutality I am going to follow Thousands of women fighting It is not easy though Years and years of protesting Years and years of sighing In a miraculous 1848 day Women was granted to own property I guess we can say yay But there is still some inequality In the early 20th century Women got the right to vote But there was still enemies Still to face penalties Then little after that Women became to work Labor rose Women’s role became important We still ain’t giving up Much more to achieve Much more to see We ain’t giving up no more Little by little Women became policewomen and congresswomen Woman even became vice presidents We worked at hospitals Look at the progress We made success Yes sometimes we may have stress But we remember never to give up……. Just like we did with history We can go forward Fight the discrimination Fight back and hard Ignore insults And one day we, woman Can be equal!
