This is to celebrate Woman's history month! I hope you like it! This is my writing about her: What is Xiye known for? Xiye is not that well known, but she is probably most well known for the strike she planned when she was 17. She did that because she and many other students wanted the Government to take action in stopping climate change and protect the planet. That is a very bold action. That concludes what Xiye is most known for. Important events in her life Her hometown had a terrible drought. Two years later, the rain finally came. But it was a flood. This is important because if this hadn’t happened, she wouldn't have stepped up and fought for action in stopping climate change. The second is when she and her family moved to New York City and she saw the damage hurricane Sandy had done. Now she really wanted to stop climate change. The last event is when she organized and led a strike to get the Government into action to stop climate change, and help save the earth. Those are her most important events that happened in her life. At least I think so Fun Facts! One interesting fact about Xiye is that she chose to stand up for the earth, not just sit there and wait for something to magically happen. Another interesting fact is that in March, she planned a strike. That’s my birthday month, and coincidentally, March is women's herstory month, yes, herstory, and I decided to choose Xiye as the person I wanted to write about. The last fact is that Xiye belonged to a group called Otomi Toltec, a group of indigenous people who believe that they should help the earth. Those are the fun facts! My opinion My opinion will be Mary Poppin styled. Now, spit, spot, on with it. I feel that this Xiye Bastida girl proves the theory that everything is possible, even the impossible. She also turns her boldness to the next level. I hear you beg me to tell you more? Oh very well. She took it to the next level because she shows that YOUNG girls make differences too. I am quite old...what? You want to know how old I am? One NEVER questions a woman's age. That’s my amusing, (I hope) Mary Poppin styled opinion.
Google for the photo. There was a glitch so I couldn't take out the background. Try it for yourself.
