before you, as a guy, ask "when is men's history month then??" read this: women have a celebrated history month because we have been belittled, ignored, and mistreated for the majority of human history. men, although their history is still obviously very significant and important, have always had their accomplishments celebrated and stories passed down and recognition given. that's great! women have not had that for most of history. yall are not oppressed and you do not need a history month. :) same reason we have a black history month. they also have been belittled, ignored and mistreated for the majority of history. we don't have a white history month because we don't need it. men don't need a history month. history months like these are a chance to bring to light many of the issues women, minorities, and LGBTQ+ people have faced for centuries. so during this international women's day and women's history month, how about we celebrate the inspiring and strong and amazing women instead of complaining about when your turn is.
as you may know, march is women's history month! as a woman, this month is very important to me, so i decided to celebrate by making a blockshade of a woman who has inspired me for a long time! you probably have heard of her - Malala Yousafzai :) Malala is from Pakistan and is currently 23 years old. when she was 15 (my age! :0) she was unfortunately shot and very very injured by a member of a group called the Taliban who didn't want girls in Pakistan to go to school. Malala and her family always fought for the rights of girls in Pakistan and their right to have an education. Malala luckily survived her injuries and now she travels all around the world making speeches and speaking out for girls everywhere <3 you can read more about her at https://malala.org :) i hope you enjoy this blockshade that i made of her ^^ thanks for reading :D all art by me
