---LOG ENTRY 3623--- This is the one hundredth year since the war began and for some reason, I don’t feel like celebrating. Personally, I believe the war began a long time ago, before the Battle of Nevada, all the way back to WWII and the Cold War. During to the war, the U.S.A. wanted new ways to fight their enemies. It started with the scientists. Now, these aren’t your science teacher type scientists, these are the top dogs among scientists, these guys are the BEST. Of course, they worked for the American government, developing weapons beyond our worst nightmares. When the Roswell UFO crashed, they were some of the first to see it. As they were studying the alien corpse and the ship, they came across many things that were never before seen by human eyes. But one thing stood out from the others; in the thrusters, there was an object similar to that purposed by Einstein for time travel. A machine that could bend space and time would be invaluable to the military, but it took over 100 years of secret working to recreate it. The year was 2068; the machine was ready for testing. As the scientists flipped the switch, the machine violently convulsed, spitting a strange matter at the scientists, killing one of them. This continued for a time after the scientist had been taken to a safe place. A few remained to watch to see if anything else would happen. Something did happen. Fifteen minutes after the killing of the scientist, the machine began shaking, clattering, violently, as if something was contained inside. Suddenly, it exploded. It exploded, but stopped halfway through the explosion. Just stopped. Imagine a large box of explosives exploded, but before it could hurt you, it stopped moving. This was completely improbable, and yet it happened. 2 hours later, the scientists’ curiosity got the better of them. They sent the oldest of the scientists into the explosion. Suddenly, the explosion started becoming a pitch black void; a miniature black hole. The scientist that entered never came out. The scientists soon sent a surveillance robot in to the black abyss. The images were terrifying; a world, much like our own, overrun by hellish creatures, and scorched black. Two years after the incident, the scientists had not found a way to use this in war, until the first of them came out. Aliens, demons, mutants, whatever you want to call them, came out by the hundreds. Area 51 was completely overrun by these monstrosities. They were impervious to bullets, and most weapons. Eventually, the government authorized the use of nuclear bombs to kill the creatures. It worked, for a while. Earth soon banded together to fight this common enemy. We developed new weapons to fight them and armor to protect ourselves. Sadly, nuclear weapons were still the best way to fight them. Our planet was now a nuclear wasteland. There were few areas that survived, so they developed a new radiation suit, lightweight, and strong. Eventually, the creatures evolved, becoming stronger, faster, and immune to nuclear tactics. The human race was losing. We then did something we should never have done. We fused the human race with that of our attackers, creating a super soldier. These soldiers were everything the creatures were, and yet still human. Though they lost many human emotions, such as happiness, compassion, and pity, this was considered one of the best things to ever happen to the human race. This helped us dramatically; we were no longer losing, but in the process, we lost the very thing that makes us human. Nobody knows what came out of the machine. But I have an idea. It was us. -Private George Pallidin ---Notes--- some SFX by BRUMAK.
