The characters on screen represent a species, this species will evolve and adapt to suit their environment. HOW IT WORKS: Each creature will go out each day and search for food, they all start the day with 700 energy, if a creature eats at least 1 plants, it has enough to live to the next day. If a creature eats 2 plants, it will survive to the next day and also reproduce. Once a creature has 2 food or less than 200 energy, it will head back to "home". If the creature reaches 0 energy, the creature dies and stops moving. When all creatures have returned or died, the day ends and the next day begins, creatures will reproduce during the night. TRAITS: Each creature has its own traits. The better the traits, the faster the creature loses energy. There are 4 different traits. SPEED; the amount of pixels a creature can move each frame SIGHT; how far the creature can see around it. Once a creature sees food, it will turn orange. DESIRABILITY; the chance a creature has of producing multiple babies ATTENTION SPAN; the distance a creature will search in one direction before switching direction, this trait does NOT subtract from energy. The creatures offspring will have similar traits to their parents, but with slight variation. Over time, the creatures better adapted to their environment will survive and reproduce and the ones less adapted to their environment will die. So the species as a whole will eventually have better traits. Check out this other cool project! https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/285520906/ Thanks to @Truth_and_fries for the thumbnail!
