『 I̲n̲t̲r̲o̲d̲u̲c̲t̲i̲o̲n̲ 』 In warrior cat roleplays, training apprentices are always an interesting turn of events. I haven't seen many guides that cover all the aspects of training them, so I decided to make one! 『 T̲a̲b̲l̲e̲ ̲O̲f̲ ̲C̲o̲n̲t̲e̲n̲t̲s̲ 』 ﹥ First Border Patrol ﹥ Getting To Know ﹥ Hunting ﹥ Battling ﹥ First Gathering 『 F̲i̲r̲s̲t̲ ̲B̲o̲r̲d̲e̲r̲ ̲P̲a̲t̲r̲o̲l̲ 』 After the ceremony, the first thing your character should do is bring their new apprentice around their territory. It may seem boring, but letting them know a little more about clan life is a pretty big first step at being a mentor. Let the apprentice know about what has happened in each of the places they visit, and tell them a little about the prey/wildlife that's there. 『 G̲e̲t̲t̲i̲n̲g̲ ̲T̲o̲ ̲K̲n̲o̲w̲ ̲T̲h̲e̲m̲ 』 You can skip this if your characters already know each other, but if they don't, this is one of the most important parts of being a mentor. If your character and the apprentice dislike each other, what's the point of teaching them anything? Do enough roleplays with them that they'll want to and look forward to doing to more exciting things, like battling or hunting. 『 H̲u̲n̲t̲i̲n̲g̲ 』 Make sure to teach the easiest techniques first. For example, if your character is in ThunderClan, start with mice and squirrels, and go to fish last. If you're in WindClan, teach the apprentice how to hunt rabbits before you have them chasing squirrels. Here are a few basic hunting crouches: ﹥ Mice And Voles: Drop onto your haunches and creep forward, leaping on the prey when you're close enough. ﹥ Fish Unsheathe your claws and wait beside the river, making sure your shadow doesn't show. Flash out your paw and flip the fish onto the bank once you see one. ﹥ Rabbits Make sure your character is downwind and then pounce on the rabbit. ﹥ Birds Climb up a tree and force your paws down onto the birds wings, making it unable to escape. ﹥ Squirrels Speed is the technique with squirrels. Chase them away from the trees and pounce. Pursuing them into the branches of trees is sometimes considered dangerous. 『 B̲a̲t̲t̲l̲e̲ ̲T̲e̲c̲h̲n̲i̲q̲u̲e̲s̲ 』 This is one of the last things you'll need to look at. These are a list of battle moves: ﹥ Back kick Creep up on the enemy and lash out with your front legs, putting all your weight on your front paws. ﹥ Belly rake SIice your opponent with unsheathed claws. Helps when being pinned. ﹥ Forepaw Slash SIice downwards against your opponents face or body. ﹥ Front Paw Blow Bring your front paw down onto your opponents head. ﹥ Leap and Hold Spring onto your opponents back and hang there with unsheathed claws. Ideal for smaller cats. ﹥ Scruff Shake Secure a grip on your opponents scruff and shake until they can't fight back. ﹥ Tail Yank Grab your opponents tail and pull it until they are knocked off balance. ﹥ Teeth grip Sink your teeth into your opponents ears, tail, scruff or legs while leaving your claws free to fight. ﹥ Upright Lock Rear on your back legs and lean down onto your opponent with great force. ﹥ Half Turn BeIIy Rake Do the beIIy rake and then slip under them, leaving yourself away from the pin. 『 F̲i̲r̲s̲t̲ ̲G̲a̲t̲h̲e̲r̲i̲n̲g̲ 』 Although your characters apprentice may attend the gathering without you, it is better if you tell them a little about the gathering and other clans before they leave. Tell them what the leaders and deputies of each clan are called and where each clan is located.
