Welcome to Tilechess! Press SPACE to show the playing song. Press H to hide it. REMIXERS: Press T to activate thumbnail mode. (stops project) RULE 6: Do not vandalize the project. Do not change the instructions unless giving a proposal. More details in the Rules section of the Instructions. << HOW TO PLAY >> -- getting started -- Follow these steps on your first remix. 1. Remix 2a. Choose a block 2b. Pick the Reshape tool in the board sprite 2c. Delete a big block (should break it into 16 tiles) 2d. Outline 15 of them (all but one!) in a unique color of your choice. 3. Fill in your tiles (use the Fill tool): 1 must be yellow (king), 1 must be queen (magenta), 2 must be bishops (blue), 2 must be rooks (brown), 2 must be knights (green), and 8 must be pawns (beige). Follow GC's model; the setup does not need to be the same as that: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/499103647/ 4. Put your name on the Users tab in the color of your outline (follow GC_Collabs's model) -- making a move -- You cannot make your first move until your second remix. 1. Remix 2. Choose a type of tile to move: - A pawn can only move one tile to an adjacent empty tile. This type of tile can break blocks. - A rook can only move north, south, east, or west (no diagonals). It cannot break blocks. - A knight's movement is directly borrowed from chess. Choose one of these paths: a) 2 blocks north or south and 1 block east or west b) 2 blocks east or west and 1 block north or south Knights can only break blocks if they are adjacent to an unopened block. - A bishop can only move in diagonals. Bishops cannot break blocks. - A queen can move either like a bishop or a rook. Queens cannot break blocks. - A king moves just like a pawn. A king can break blocks from two blocks away (a pawn can only break blocks from one). 3. FILL ALL blocks that your selected tile has moved through in your outline. (e.g. bishop would have a diagonal "trail") Filling the outline is not required -- just the inside. << RULES >> 1. Do not move more than one of your tiles at a time. 2. Player tiles cannot intersect other tiles of the same user. 3a. All tiles can destroy (only) one tile from other players, but the tile must be in the offensive tile's path and the offensive tile must replace the destroyed tile's position. 3b. King tiles cannot be destroyed unless a) it's the player's only tile or b) all other tiles of the player are trapped. 3c. If a player's king tile is removed, the player is eliminated and cannot rejoin! The player's name must also be crossed out in the users tab and removed from the leaderboard. 3c. Don't have your tile destroy another of your tiles. 4a. POINTS SYSTEM: - pawn = 1 point, knight = 3, bishop = 3, rook = 5, queen = 9 (king = 1 and conquered tile = 1). Other than the king's small point value, this comes directly from chess. 4b. It is not mandatory to update the leaderboard each turn, but please do if you have the time. 5. You cannot break more than one block a turn. 6. Don't vandalize the project. This includes editing the instructions (unless giving a proposal), tampering with the music scripts, altering the board in cosmetic or otherwise inappropriate ways, adding undesired features, rigging the leaderboard, changing/deleting music scripts, vandalizing the thumbnail, etc. 7. Adding music is allowed but songs cannot be longer than 240 seconds. Do not delete any music -- the owner can do that at his discretion. 8. Be consistent with the title name. - Tilechess [6^2], Tilechess [36] WITH MORE MUSIC, etc. is not allowed - Do not change the title or delete the remix count 9. Alt accounts are allowed but they must have the Scratcher status and be at least a month old. 10. The board never runs out! If all blocks have been broken, please let GC_Collabs know and he will expand the board! 11. No inventing tiles. No duplicating existing player tiles (especially OP ones!). No resurrecting destroyed player tiles! 12. No approving proposals unless the owner has been absent for 7 days (see Recent Activity tab) and the proposal has been there for at least 2 days. 13a. Claim a remix by commenting anything that includes the letter "r" on the latest project. If someone else claimed before you, you can't remix until their claim expires. If they remixed, you can't remix the same project. 13b. All claims expire in 60 minutes. All remix reservations expire in 60 minutes by default. But they can last as long as 24 hours or as short as desired. More rules will be added as the remix chain proceeds. Noticeable violation of one or more of these rules will result in a strike. If a rule violation is particularly severe, a punishment will be delivered directly. << STRIKES >> none yet. << OTHER INFORMATION >> This remix chain was started on March 11, 2021. The owner is GC_Collabs. This remix chain is a fusion of Elimination War and Chess, as suggested by the title.
