S T O R Y : “Oh… you didn’t know??” Dreamcatcher smiled. “I’m a mindreader. Except, I was born under a comet that only comes around once every 30 millenia, so.... I’m kinda also an empath?” Sunrise and Pacific’s jaws dropped. “W-wha-what?” Pacific sputtered. “You can read people’s minds-and emotions?” “Yeah, pretty much!” Dreamcatcher confirmed with a somewhat sheepish grin. Sunrise’s mind was blown. This random dragan she had just met could read minds-and emotions! From the look of it, Pacific’s mind was too. She interrogated Dreamcatcher as they walked by a room with a SnowWing shooting her tail spikes, and a StrongWing throwing daggers. As they slipped into an obstacle course room, Pacific finished interrogating Dreamcatcher. “How long have you been able to do this?” Dreamcatcher replied casually, “Since I hatched.” Pacific paused in the doorway, sputtering. “What!?” Pacific decided to not go into the room, instead watching the other two do the obstacle course. Sunrise excelled in this room, because she was faster than Dreamcatcher. When the duo came out some minutes later, Pacific seemed to have calmed down. She started to walk towards Sunrise and Dreamcatcher when a bell rang and a voice boomed out. “It is time for lunch!” The hungry, exhausted draganets in the room swarmed out of the door, nearly pushing over Sunrise in the process. “Whoa!” she shouted. After some difficulty, the trio of draganets pushed into the room where the food was being served. They quickly grabbed some plates and got in line. “This smells great!” exclaimed Pacific, grinning. She grabbed some fish and left the line. Dreamcatcher wrinkled her snout and whispered to Sun, “I don't like fish. They’re too slimy.” They both selected some food, with some bread and meat for Dreamcatcher, and some berries and cow for Sunrise. They found Pacific, and went to a peaceful spot in a small garden, underneath a large weeping willow. They ate in silence as a large group of dragans, (Councillors?”Sunrise thought.), went walking by, speaking in soft tones. Just then, a brightly colored dragan walked into the garden. Noticing her four wings, Sunrise thought, She must be a SwarmWing! The dragan had metallic gold scales, and smaller black scales dotted all over her body, which made her look a lot like a wasp. Sun had heard about how the SwarmWings looked like different bugs. There was a 40% chance to inherit their father’s bug, a 50% chance for their mother’s, and a 10% chance for an ancestor’s, like a grandma. Sun wondered which one the draganet had inherited. The draganet looked around and huffed. “Come out already, Citrus!” A medium-sized draganet with scales the color of grapefruit materialized on a wall above her, on a platform of vines. Sunrise watched in amazement and confusement as Citrus leaped to the ground. Where had she come from? “You’re no fun, you grouch!” she called to the SwarmWing. “Loosen up a bit, Ri!” The SwarmWing, Ri, smiled a bit. “You know I hate that nickname.” “Well, it’s better than Apocrita! Why do you have such a long name?” “It doesn’t matter. But, we are gathering inside to hear something from Lady Peregrine, so come on! They're already starting!”
