This is an algorithm that essentially ages ticks and manages creation and deletion of ticks from a designated list, which essentially allows us to measure TPS, or ticks per second, every frame. With regular TPS algorithms, this is not possible, because it only measures them every second. However, with this method, we can get a reading every single frame. With FPS being able to go from 16 to 40 to 28 in a millisecond, you need FPS readings every second, so you can adjust your games to compensate for lag.
