Select Castle: Arrows, space Place Cannons: Arrows, space Fire Cannons: Mouse to target, click to fire Repair: Arrows to move; S to place, AD to rotate The object of the game is to defend your homeland from invading ships! After selecting a starting castle, the game cycles through 3 phases: (1) Place Cannons, (2) Battle, and (3) Repair. If at the end of any Repair phase, you are not able to rebuild walls fully surrounding at least one castle, you lose. If you complete 5 battle phases and clear the seas of invaders, you win! PLACE CANNONS PHASE Place your cannons, only on the enclose checkerboard pattern. Must have a 2x2 space for each cannon. 3 cannons are available to add in each place cannons phase. BATTLE PHASE Fire at enemy ships! Each cannon can have one cannonball in the air at a time, so if all cannons are firing, you must wait for the shots to reach their targets. Ships take multiple hits to destroy, and will show explosions to indicate how many times they have been hit. Ships will return fire, and destroy your walls. Destroyed walls will show as crumbled. Any ships that reach the shore can also drop off grunts (but carriers will drop off more grunts than other ships). Grunts walk around and will stop if they reach a castle or wall. They can set unused castles on fire, destroying them, and get in the way in the repair phase. Some ships can shoot flaming cannonballs. These destroy your walls like other ships, and also leave fires behind. The fires get in the way in the repair phase. REPAIR PHASE Must enclose an area completely with walls to place cannons inside. During the repair phase, expand your castle to make room for more cannons. If a castle is not included in an enclosed area at the end of the repair phase, you lose. Any cannons inside the enclosed area are ready to fire in the next battle round. You can only build on the green grass areas, and cannot build on top of fires or grunts. Fires will disappear at the end of the repair phase. SHIP TYPES Scout (white sail) - 2 hits to destroy Carrier (green sails) - 3 hits to destroy. Will drop many more grunts if they reach shore. Juggernaut (black sails) - 4 hits to destroy. Fires flaming cannonballs that leave fires. Fires stay for one build phase, and cannot be built over.
