Author's Letter I’ve always been drifting off to the villain’s side of tales. In my opinion, they’re just more interesting. Yeah, sure, Harry Potter had a hard life, but what happened with Voldemort? What’s his story? Snow White, a heroic fourteen year old, was poisoned by the evil queen, but what if that was an act of revenge? There’s always more to the story. But you never see the villain’s side, their perspective. What if they never wanted to be the villain? What if they never wanted to hurt others? We’ll never know. Yet, that’s what I’ve questioned ever since watching and listening and reading my first fairy tales. When I read The School For Good And Evil, by Soman Chainani, I finally found the story I wanted, the story I needed. Where people question which side they fall on. How good are they? How much of an evil doer are they? Sadly, as much as I loved that series, it didn’t fulfil and answer my questions. So now I present you, reader, with my side of the story, taking a character who takes after myself and dropping her into this universe of good and evil. Maybe you’ve also questioned this, maybe you’re just starting too, either way, this is the story for you. Enjoy the ride.
