Falling Feathers Tears of Betrayal Prologue (Art will be coming soon!)
Lightning flashes in the distance. A storm was brewing. She knows the storm will wash away her tracks, but what about her eggs? The assassin won’t stop until he finds her. She wonders who ordered him to kill her. She needs to move. Or he will find her. She spreads her wings and lifts into the sky. Almost at once, strong air currents try to toss her against the cliff. She battles against the wind, trying to rise. She beats her powerful wings, once twice, three times, and breaks away. She stretches her wings to their full extent and soars up, up, up, to the top of the mountain. She spots the mouth of the cave where she hid her eggs, and adjusts her wings to get there faster. The more time she has, the better. Her talons thump onto the damp cave floor. She hurries towards the tunnel that leads to the chamber where she hid her eggs. The air smells strange, like something walked through the tunnel not too long ago. Probably just the wind, she tells herself. She reaches out with her tail to sweep her eggs closer to her. Nothing is there. Her talons grapple in the hollow. Her eggs are gone. (Next chapter: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/505172670/ )
