NONONO DAMMIT I ACCIDENTALLY RESHARED THIS WHILE I WAS CLEANING OUT MY PROFILE. I HOPE THIS DOESNT GET ON TRENDING :'/ Woah! Top loved 17/4/21!!! YAY! GETTING CURATED BY @23enicho ON THE 12th!!! This is a space parallax I made! It is mainly for my SDS proposal as well as your enjoyment :) Hover over planets to see their names and swirl your cursor around for the parallax to work! PLEASE DON'T SAY I FORGOT PLUTO, I WAS FOCUSING ON THE MAIN PLANETS IN OUR SOLAR SYSTEM ;) Mercury- It's the smallest planet in our solar system and it's actually shrinking! Because Mercury’s orbit is so small, it seems like it’s moving faster in the sky than other planets! This is why the Romans named it after Mercury, a messenger of the gods. Venus- Venus is the second planet from the Sun and the third brightest object in Earth's sky after the Sun and Moon! It's size and mass is the closest to Earth than any of the other planets! Earth- Earth, our home, is the third planet from the sun. It's the only planet known to have an atmosphere containing free oxygen, oceans of water on its surface and, of course, life! It's one is a billion trillion ;) Mars- Mars was named after the roman's god of war because of its blood-red color! NASA's Mars 2020 Perseverance rover will look for signs of past microbial life, cache rock and soil samples, and prepare for future human exploration on Mars! Jupiter- Jupiter is the largest planet in the solar system! The Great Red Spot on Jupiter is one of its most familiar features. This spot is actually an anticyclonic storm. (An anticyclonic storm is a weather storm where winds around the storm flow in the direction opposite to that of the flow above a region of low pressure.) Saturn- Saturn is actually the most distant planet that can be seen without a telescope. Saturn's rings are made mostly of chunks of ice and small amounts of carbonaceous dust. The rings stretch out more than 120,700 km from the planet but are amazingly thin: only about 20 meters thick! Uranus- Uranus actually rotates on its side and takes about 17 hours to rotate once (a Uranian day). It takes about 84 Earth years to complete an orbit of the Sun! That's more than the average human lifespan! Neptune- Neptune is the most distant planet from the Sun and is the smallest gas giant. Like Saturn, Neptune has a very thin collection of rings. They are likely made up of ice particles mixed with dust grains! FACT- Neptune and Uranus are ice giants and Jupiter and Saturn are gas giants :) (Just a notice) Many of the Roman Gods were named after Greek Gods and Goddesses. I am focusing on Roman mythology here however, you can discuss Greek mythology with this really cool person called :)
