Choose a biome and build a base, press e to erase, use the arrow keys to explore the biome and build a base somewhere else. When you first open the menu at the bottom of the screen it can take from 5 to 20 seconds to load but after that it doesn't need to load and you can access it in seconds. Also this is really laggy if you have a giant base and it might be hard to build or erase.
