This is a simple program to explore four variables that Scratch automatically gives you. Scratch will also update these variables for you, so you only need to use them in your code. They are: 1. timer - the number of seconds since the green flag was clicked 2. loudness - how much sound the microphone is picking up, on a scale from 1-100 3. video motion on this sprite - detects whether the video screen has changed underneath the sprite. It needs the webcam to be on 4. video direction on this sprite - detects the general direction of the motion underneath the sprite. It needs the webcam to be on. 3 of the 4 sprites in this program will 'say' what the current value of one of these variables. 20 times per second. The timer variable is displayed in the corner, and you can reset it with the big blue button. The program will also automatically turn on the webcam for you and set the transparency so you can partially see the background..
The idea was my own, but I used the Scratch help resources to help me figure out the variables.
