Context of why I'm making this: @passionberryfry (ha you got called out lol- hope you don't mind) and I were talking, and we ended up having a long discussion on who would teach the other first, sadly I lost. :sob: so now I'm making this. Also this is for 300+ followers :0 tysm yall <3333 NO I WILL NOT MAKE A LOT OF TUTORIALS LIKE THIS. DO NOT SPAM MY PROFILE WITH TEACH ME HOW TO DO "INPUT WHAT YOU WANT ME TO DO". THIS WAS A SPECIAL CASE AND ALSO AKINA AND I ARE GOOD FRIEND. This tutorial will only be for hair! Nothing else >:0 Okay I'm not really the best at explain in text but I'm gonna try :0 so let's get started Steps/ images in order 1. just the disclaimer :0 2.just my layout for firealpaca for those who are wondering I guess (?) 3. so here's the first step, just the base color, the original color 4. so it's kind of hard to tell but I added small highlights(?) to the top with a lighter color 5. I just recolored the back a bit so it looks a bit darker 6. adding darker highlights to the front to make some shadowy hairs 7. I use a darker color, adding it on the top & bottom and mixing it completely. (example of how I do it on the next 2 slides.) 7 1/3. example of what it looks like (note do not use black, use a darker version of the base color, I am only using black for the example) 7 2/3. Mixing it down, making it look a bit streaky like how irl hair looks. 8. I repeat the step again using different opacity and mixing things around 9. I do the same thing again, but this time less noticeable (it helps with the end product though!) 10. air brushing a lighter color of the original base and using the add mode in the "blend" section 11. I air brush the whole bottom with the same color as the darker color used earlier 12. using a mix brush again with the lighter color, the same one as before I mix the center so it looks a bit more shiny. 13. OOO top shine ;) I also use the same one as before and but the opacity is different :0, again like I said before you should experiment with multiplying and adding, as well as the rest of the blend features :) 14. I add a low opacity airbrush to the areas around with hair, around the face. Using the same color as the skin color, making it look like the hair is thinner in that part 15. I darken the right side as to add shadows 16. I make the hairs that are in the back darker as to add a contrast and make it look like it's in the back 17. more shine in the middle of the hair with a light air brush xD 18. I added some highlight (?) to the hair to make it look more shiny and to show where the lights are from 18.5. what they look like, (note I recommend using a white-ish color, not black I was only using black as an example.) 19. light source (this one is not needed in most pieces of art but since I was making art of a specific book with the context of it being night time, I added some moonlight shines!) 20. Artificial light from a light source from above 21. Me pointing myself out as to make it a bit more clear for those who can't really tell. 22. the final product :) hope you enjoyed and also hope this helps for those who wanted me to make this :0 If you would like to try my way of shading out, please feel free to remix this project so I can see :) I would love to see how this way of shading looks on different styles!
