Zoom SR-71 Blackbird: This plane is famous for being the fastest plane in the world, and still holds that title. Created by Lockheed Martin, this ramjet was made a reconnaissance aircraft for the USAF. It was able to reach the point of leaving Earth's orbit and still be stable. The Soviets hated the Blackbird because their interceptors couldn't catch the Blackbird in speed and altitude. It's official top speed is Mach 3.3 (2,531 mph) but it's said that if the engines were put at full power, it could reach up to Mach 7.7 (5,907 mph). Little known fact, the Blackbird constantly leaked fuel from it's skin.
