(this is old I just wanted to reshare it) google, is a search engine. Not an artist, not a photographer. They do not, own the images on google images unless it is stated they do. (i.e. the google docs logo) let me quickly explain how this works: Google, takes every image from every public website, and they put it in their image searcher. that's why when you google your username, your art comes up. Remember that last part. Now, if you're an artist, how do you feel if your art gets stolen? Sad and angry, right? But what if you, by crediting google instead of the rightful owner, you're stealing someone's art or photography, whether you meant to or not? yeah. Also, you remember how I said your art gets saved to google? If someone were to find it there and use it, what would you think? The same people who are against art theft (saying people can't use your art is against the terms of use of scratch, by the way) are using images from google without credit, therefore basically doing the same thing they're supposedly against? I dunno. I don't get it, the effort was put into giving credit but it wasn't all the way. The same applies to repost sites like Pinterest. Please, credit the user on the website you got it from. If you don't know who made it, link the image (not the site, the image address),and if the site seems suspicious, I wouldn't download the image at all. Thanks. :)
