He claims it’s because that’s the number of chess games he’s lost, but everyone is pretty sure he just payed someone to start calling him a cool name so it would catch on. In the beginning, Zero hated chess. He was a huge jock, and played for the school soccer team. Unfortunately he broke his leg trying to see if he could fly from his roof with an umbrella like Mary Poppins (it didn’t work). He needed something to feed his competitiveness while he was injured, so he took up chess. He was surprisingly good at it, but he only continued to play because he won lots of money from competitions. He is now #6 in the overall world rankings, and is climbing to the top.
