Orangepelt sat next to Sandywhisker. She was still unconscious. Orangepelt could hear her steadily breathing. Orangepelt was furious at Graysky. Yet, he felt sorry for Graysky. *Emotions are complicated,* thought Orangepelt. *Like love... I want to ask Sandywhisker to be my mate... But what if she doesn't want to? I guess we could still be friends. And what if something happens to her again? I might live forever without telling her.* Orangepelt made up his mind. He would tell her. As soon as she woke up. "I'm here to check on Sandywhisker," said Clearwhisker from outside. "How's she doing?" Clearwhisker entered the medicine den. "Good. Relatively." "Good to hear. Better get some goldenrod to help heal up that wound." Clearwhisker chewed up the goldenrod into a poultice and applied it to Sandywhisker's wound. "If all goes well, she should wake up soon. And she'll be back to her warrior duties in no time." "That's good news!" said Orangpelt. After inspecting Sandywhisker one last time, Clearwhisker left the den. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Darkness... Only darkness... Except...there was light. And Orangepelt. *Orangpelt!* "Sandywhisker!" said Orangepelt. "I'm so glad you're up! Are you feeling okay?" "Yes. Definitely. You look...like you want to tell me something." It was almost as Orangpelt stopped breathing. "Um...yeah. It's uh... I...li..." "You like me?" asked Sandywhisker. "Yeah," said Orangepelt, embarrassed. "I just wanted to get that off my chest. We can be just friends, though." "Are you kidding!?" Sandywhisker said excitedly. "I like you too!" "Really? So are we...mates?" "Yes. You've just made my day so much better, Orangepelt." Sandywhisker smiled. He really had. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Graysky faced a furious face: Diamondheart. "You've got some serious explaining to do," she said. "First, you show up with an unexplained injury. Then, I hear rumors about you going onto LightClan territory? Maybe you're not ready to become a warrior after all." Graysky winced. That hurt. "It won't happen again," he said. "I've learned since. And I'll be honest with you." "That's good to hear. So, how did you get injured?" "I got into a fight that I shouldn't have. But, like I said, I've learned." "And LightClan?" "That's complicated... Very complicated..." "Tell me, Graysky. Remember, you can be honest with me." Graysky couldn't tell her. He shouldn't. He wouldn't. But...he said he'd be honest with her. "It's...a long story. It will take a lot of explaining." "I've got as much time as you have," said Diamondheart calmly. "And I've got as much time as you have. I'll tell you everything."
