I hope that you're doing well! Today I'm going to be voicing my opinion on a topic that is more recent and it's something that really bothered me. I'm sure that you're wondering what this topic is, so let's get started with the commentary! You probably already know about the songs skin and driver's licence by olivia rodrigo and sabrina carpenter. If you've heard of these songs, you probably also know about the whole drama behind them. I'm not going to be getting into a ton of that but hopefully you know enough to understand my point. I am sick of people pitting women against each other. olivia rodrigo made the song driver's licence to express her feelings. about what, we will never know 100% but I think it's safe to say that she probably didn't want to create all of this drama and stress for her and sabrina carpenter. she's allowed to freely express her emotions on her platform whether she was talking about sabrina, joshua bassett, or anyone else! the same thing goes for sabrina. she's allowed to make her own song in response just as much as she's allowed to make a song completely or partly unrelated to driver's licence. so what's the big deal? the big deal is the media, both of their fans (and haters), and other people adding to the story. we need to be respectful of the lives and feelings of others. unless you personally know them, you shouldn't just assume things! just because they are known to many doesn't mean they aren't regular people, just like us! after driver's licence came out, sabrina carpenter received threats which some believe was the cause of her song skin. it absolutely disgusts me that people did that. on top of that, the media started pitting them against each other when all they did was share their voice. why can't powerful, smart, and talented women have the opportunity to be friends? that's all I'm asking. so what's the point? well first of all, don't assume. this applies to many things but for all of them, assuming can create lots of trouble and damage. then theirs not getting into drama. drama can be really harmful and hurtful to people and while it's not the likeliest thing for your drama to air on the radio and news like this one, it can definitely impact your life and make you stressed out whether it's about friends, school, or even your family. my point is, try to avoid it! and lastly, stop pitting women, or anyone for that matter, against each other! it's none of our business what they think of each other (unless they blatantly share it with us and tell us it's our business which likely won't happen). that's it for today, I really hope you enjoyed it! if you did, don't forget to give this a heart, a favourite, and share these points with your friends and family! have an amazing day, - belle ✰
