Aquamarine came to life at the same time as her best friend, Moonstone. She and M were pretty much inseparable. Until one day, when they accidentally fused. Aqua had invited Moon on a little trip to a pool. It was the middle of the night, the moon high in the sky, and the two were about to jump into the pool. Just at the last second, before they hit the water, Moonstone grabbed Aqua's hand, suddenly scared of the water. As they fell in, they fused. They unfused as soon as they broke the surface, but the damage was done. The next day, Aqua and Moon were supposed to face their punishment, but Aquamarine stopped her friend. "Hey, M?" she had said gently. "I want you to stay here. I'll talk the Diamonds into leaving you alone. It was my fault. I dragged you into something you would be afraid of." Aqua then pulled a necklace she had gotten from a friendly Gem from Earth off. She gave it to Moonstone, turned around, and started to walk away. She stopped and turned back to Moon just at the gates. These were the last words she said before disappearing into the palace and never coming back: "I don't want you moping around just because you miss me, Moonstone. Besides, in a way, I'll still be alive in that necklace. Look, I'm doing this because I love you. Tell me you'll move on, so I can die knowing you will be happy without me." Moonstone had told her she would, and Aqua walked through the gates. However, unknown to Moonstone at the time, Aqua was simply rejuvenated. She soon went to Earth and met Moonstone, though she had no idea who she was. Thanks to the Gems' hard work, and their experience with this, Aqua's memories were restored. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Okay, before y'all's yell at me, I don't know very much about Steven Universe, being on the first season and everything. The only thing I really do know is that the common punishment for fusing on Homeworld is the shattering of your gem, though sometimes there are exceptions, like Aqua, who was friends with the only Moonstone in existence.
