Posted this, but it’s never actually gonna happen, it’s just an AU image. Since I’m unsure of how Darkheart would react to Thornclaw’s reaction, and it’s an AU, I only have her’s shown here. And him kinda just sitting in the foreground as a shadow. The title makes no sense to anyone who doesn’t know Thornclaw’s true backstory. ((Backstory in credits is still canon))
Thornclaw and the kit are owned by me Darkheart(cat shadow) is owned by @waterfallthedragon And Fierin(Hawk shadow) is owned by @—LeJINdary— Program used: IbisPaintX Oh hey, cool, keep going, trust me Keep going Keep going Thornclaw’s true backstory: (contains mention of dead children and toxic relationships) Thornclaw grew up in DarkClan(over in the bigger warrior cats RP studio). And though she came to be known for her obsession with having kits, and her later turn to darkness, murdering kits. There is more behind it that just wanting to be a mother. At first Thornclaw simply wanted kits, it wasn’t something she needed, and she would have been fine with out them. But eventually she paired up with a Tom named Stormcloud. Soon enough she was expecting a litter and she was overjoyed. That is until she wandered into the warriors den one day to find that Stormcloud was laying with another she-cat. Thornclaw was upset, but she forgave him. Only for him to do it again and again when she wasn’t looking, and again and again she forgave him. Wanting more than ever for her kits to come so she could be sure he wouldn’t run off again when she needed him. But on the night she gave birth he simply sat with the other she-cat, now carrying his kits, and didn’t even give her a sympathetic glance as she cried over her five dead kits. But things got worse, after she broke away from Stormcloud she met another tom, Greytail. And once again, soon enough she was expecting again. But she still wanted revenge on Stormcloud, and even though it hurt her heart to kill the innocent little kits of the she-cat Stormcloud had left her for, she did it anyways. And for a long time, those were the only kits she killed, until she found Greytail sharing a nest with a Tom. Once again she forgave, but in her rage of having something like this happen again she killed two more litters, and that’s when it started to become habit. Whenever something upset her, whenever she was mad, she’d kill kits. Eventually she gave birth to her son, Brightheart, then Littlekit. But it was too late, her habits were stuck, and eventually after getting fed up with all of the death Littlekit attacked her, biting her throat and accidentally killing her. All of this is the reason Thornclaw is who she is. She may sound like a Mapleshade copy, but there is a lot more to her if you read between the lines. She just wanted to love and be loved, have a mate who cared for her, and kits who would grow into cats she could be proud of. But no Tom ever became mates with her because they wanted her, they all did it for her genes. Just wanting strong healthy kits, and once that was set in stone they left her for other cats. Thornclaw wasn’t ambitious, she was broken hearted. And that is the reason that I made this AU piece. Remember the Image and what happens along with it is not Canon to the forgotten clans, but Thornclaw’s backstory is. The cruelty of the cats around her made her cruel, and she and her family paid the price for it. This is where I believe I find the redeem-ability in Thornclaw. It’s hard to ignore that Thornclaw made horrible decisions, but she didn’t do what she did out of ambition, or want for gain. She did them out of pain. She hurt cats because cats hurt her. It’s taking a long time for Thornclaw to turn over a new leaf. But I feel that she is actually coming close to a real redemption. Not a forced redemption with a flip of a switch. But character growth that is real life months in the making. From kind warrior, to broken queen, to ambitious murderer, to flawed supporter, to now a new, better, cat.
