As I flew threw the snow-coated city, I spotted a raw egg spattered across a tree. 'odd,' I thought. Humans never wasted anything. Or at least good food. I swooped down. Suddenly, I say a blur and then something white. Just then, I felt a sickly feeling, like the feeling when you think there is one more stair when walking upstairs, and your foot swoops down in complete darkness. I looked down at my chest, and there was the egg, splattered with yellow, looking like the sun. I cawed angrily. No one ever threw something at me and got away with it. Quickly, I licked off the egg. Then, I pecked at the human who threw the egg. And boy, did he complain. Loudly. "GET OFF ME, YOU UGLY BIRD!" he shouted. That was a mistake. That just made me peck at him more. Finally, I was content with the pecking and flew away and relaxed. The middle-aged boy screamed and "argh-ed." I went back home, and studied my beautiful Lapis Lazuli colored wings. I decided I have had enough with this city. I decided to leave. I took my special little seed I'm going to plant and flew off. Before I left, I drew a little blue map on my wings with a partially dried red and blue marker I found. I knew where I was headed. To the Amazon rain forest. I know friends there. They can help me. So, I flew off, into the world and through the polluted air. When I arrived, my friend, a brightly colored red macaw, Redini, greeted me with open wings. "Welcome, Neride!" she cried. "Welcome, welcome, welcome!" I smiled. Or half smiled. It's hard to tell. "Thanks," I said. "Where can I stay?" "Oh, you can stay in that hollow in that tree."
