"I love you Shu!" A seven-year-old Valt said, grabbing Shu's hand and running along the path to the park. Shu has always treasured that moment. The few seconds of conversation, where Valt said he loved him. Of course, it was a friend-love type of way. But Shu still treasured that moment. "...I love you too Valt," Shu responded, running along with him. Valt could tell his tone was different than usual, more sincere, delicate. Shu thought of that moment a lot. Valt's brown eyes filled with excitement, himself smiling at the blue-haired boy. Shu, soothed by this memory, was sitting on his bed. He heard a voice at his window. He, instantly realizing it was Valt, walked over to it. "What the heck are you doing, Valt?" Shu asked, as Valt scrabbled up to Shu's window. "I dunno. I was bored. Why not climb my best friends house?" He grinned. Shu loved that wide, somewhat hopeful, grin. "Well you can't just hang there." He pulled Valt inside and sat back down on his bed. Valt stood and looked at Shu. They stared at eachother awkardly for a minute, then Shu moved to the side of the bed and motioned for Valt to sit on the other side. "So," He said, as Valt plopped down onto the bed. "What do you wanna do?" "Well..." Thoughts raced through Valt's mind. "We could go to the park. The one we used to go to when we were little." "Valt, it's ten thirty. You seriously think I'm aloud to go out?" "Never said you were allowed." Shu knew what Valt was getting at. "You mean we'd... Sneak out...?" Valt nodded. "Window is right there." "...Alright." Valt nodded. "I'll go first." He got off the bed and jumped out the window, landing on his feet. Shu walked to the window and hesitated. Valt saw the worry on his face and put his hands out. "Here, I'll catch you, alright?" Shu stiffened, but jumped down. Valt caught him easily, but despite Shu's small squeaks of protest, Valt didn't put him down. He held him like he was a child and started running. "VALT!" He yelled. "Mhm?" Valt acted as if this were normal. "What are you doing!?" Shu screamed, Valt still running along. "Carrying you." "I can walk, yknow...!" "No, I don't remember that." Shu sighed and leaned into Valt. He looked down at Shu, smiling softly, and still running. Shu heard the soft thumping of Valt's heart, increasing slightly. Valt was warm, it was like being carried in blankets. They reached the park, only for Valt to find Shu asleep in his arms. He let out a small sigh and sat by a tree, laying Shu's head in his lap. Valt moved some hair out of Shu's face. "I love you, Shu."
