Oliva knew this was a bad idea. Really, she did. So why was she doing this? "Just one more platypus and we're done." Liam hissed at her from the shadows. She rolled her eyes at him and carefully pulled another platypus out of the bucket. lowering the creature through the crack in the wall and into the room beyond. This seemed a tad mean in her opinion. The poor animals probably had no idea what was happening. It was also kinda dangerous. Sure Tex was a jerk who could not stop pranking everyone and their mongoose, but he didn't deserve to get stabbed by a platypus venom spur. A memory of tomato pudding suddenly flashed through her mind. Oliva narrowed her eyes, maybe he did deserve it after all. "What are you doing?!?" a voice suddenly asked from behind them Oliva whirled around to find that Liam had abandoned her and the new girl was GLARING at her with all the fury of a forest fire. "Um, n-nothing! what, what are, um, you doing?" Liam was long gone, she should have known better than to trust him. "I am just trying to find my way to the bathroom. Because I'm new, and I don't understand the lights-out rule completely yet, and I'll get caught, but they'll only scold me and let me off with a warning. You on the other hand know better. so I hope you can explain why you're out of bed and have opened a hole in the wall." The new girl was giving her a calm, cool LOOK, like she could see through Olivas mind if she just waited long enough. And, and she was right. if the new kid was caught out of bed, she'd just get told off, but Oliva had been here for almost a year now, she knew better, and she would get in SO MUCH trouble. STUPID LIAM AND HIS STUPID PAYBACK PLATYPUS PLAN! "I would suggest going back to bed." the new girl spoke up again, "Nothing to see here after all. Is there?" Olivia did not know what she was talking about and was not going to ask questions, the new girl shifted to one side and Oliva bolted down the hallway back to her own room. She didn't hear any screams in the night to suggest Tex waking up and finding his room full of platypuses. And in the cafeteria the next day no one was talking about anything weird happening with platypuses and holes in the wall. Tex was his usual annoying self and the new girl ate in the corner with that weird quiet Elf kid. (what was his name again? Ghoul or Gremlin or something right?) Liam came up to her and plopped his tray down. "Thanks for cleaning up last night," he said casually, as if he hadn't abandoned her to save his own skin, "we can try again tonight, where'd you hide the platypuses?" Olivia blinked at him. "Wasn't me who cleaned up, I..." She paused, sparing a glance at the new girl, who felt her gaze and looked up. The Elf kid was watching Olivia too, he slowly drew one finger across his throat in a threatening manner. What was that about? Olivia blinked again and looked back at Liam, he was too busy stuffing a cupcake in his face to notice her hesitation. "I... I don't know who covered for us, b-but I doubt we'll find those, those platypuses again" She finished quickly, before he DID notice. "Besides, I'm n-not sure I want to get revenge on Tex anymore, it...it feels like just putting a t-target on our backs." Liam scoffed at her "Seriously? One tiny little thing goes wrong and you get cold feet? Fine. I don't need you anyways." He frowned and grabbing his tray, moved to another table. Olivia watched him go before glancing at the new girl and the Elf kid again. they weren't looking at her this time, that mean Fairy Peri had joined them, and they were all talking. Olivia suppressed a shudder. She wasn't sure why those three were friends, or why the new girl was protecting Tex, but she wasn't going to mess with them. They were dangerous. (How had they fixed the hole in the wall?)
just a little thing I wrote. it's a scene from a book I'm writing with a friend. Tex, Peri, 'the new girl', and 'the Elf kid' are the main characters, and yeah, their super dangerous. Olivia is smart not to cross them.
