She finds out that her friend Alex is getting picked on a lot because she has a boy sounding name, and because she likes to play football. Lots of other sporty girls in her grade are also getting racist remarks from other kids, teachers, and even adults outside of school. Ali thinks that it really is no big deal, until her and all the girls in her gym class get a very offensive remark from their gym coach. Ali begins to realize that this isn't just happening in her town, but everywhere! She is tired of girls getting pushed down because everybody thinks boys are better, so Ali decides to make a change at her school, by doing something she knows will help to show everybody that girls can do anything that boys can do. Together, Ali and her friends fight for what is right. Ali learns that, when you stand up for something you believe in, you are not weird, or weak, but legendary. ___________________________________________
