original share date: june 03 2021 Name - Koi "Socks" Gender - Enby Sexuality - Panro Ace Species - Maneki-Neko cat Taken by Bento https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/559075666/ (unshared dtae for @suburbanstoat) backstory(thing) has a lot of things you'd prolly hafta search up Also it's 100% fiction Koi is a Maneki-neko. Specifically the first maneki-neko. so their parents are bakeneko x nekomata bakeneko is their father who fell in LoVe with a nekomata, and hereby wlajflkr k o i. bakeneko and nekomata having offspring was something nobody in Japan have ever heard of. Of course japanese would logically come after koi, so koi's parents sent them to china, where it was safe. originally, koi wasn't a maneki-neko cat. they were just a normal house cat who lived with a happy couple. this couple was japanese/chinese. they worked as cobblers and had a quiet and peaceful life. the couple had one child, who was already 19 years old at that time. koi, of course, lived with the parents, who were very loving and koi was very happy. a few years later the son and the parents had a fight, and the son took the cat with him to japan. the son married a nice girl :D who owned a restaurant. then went chapter two of koi's life. the son never had any pictures of his parents, only his wife had of her parents. koi missed their old owners a lot, but they were slowly adjusting to the bustling atmosphere of the restaurant. whenever koi saw a potential customer, koi had a weird feeling in their gut. soon, they came to know that the gut feeling said the humble restaurant was about to have customers. Koi started washing their face whenever a customer was about to arrive, to look clean and pleasing. the son and his wife soon learned what the sign meant and started calling koi "the lucky cat" the partners soon became very famous and was well known across the world because of their cooking skills. their lucky cat was also gaining fame, and throughout japan there were little statues made, for luck. the little cats were dubbed maneki-neko as the years went on, there was a lot of controversy of the son's heritage, with the chinese mixed in, because the japanese and the chinese were enemies. and one day, the wife and the son were found dead. koi then slowly disappeared slowly from the known world only the countryside still had little maneki-nekos in their small shops. koi wandered the streets alone one night, koi went to sleep as usual and they didn't wake up nobody cared and this is chapter three of koi's life. koi wakes up in their old owner's houses. they woke up in the bed, and the owners gave koi his food as usual. they acted as if koi was never gone. koi never doubted this, and slowly they forgot about their life in japan it was gone from their memory. koi was reintroduced as a lucky cat in china, too, as jinmao or golden cat. they still live happily with their owners... to this day to this day, people confuse maneki-neko to be chinese but koi is very japanese. note: this was set in the ancient-er times. the to this day suggests that this is merely a dream world. but we still confuse the maneki-neko as chinese, so is it not a dream? also bento is younger and therefore we see the story on how the two fall in love in I PROMISE I'LL SHARE IT SOON IT'S JUST A WIP SORRYljfdhblkfdj btw when koi went to china they were renamed socks also bento's story is about that they are a dream walker and they walk into koi's dream and they fall in love and they get outta it spoiler it was a dream hahahaha (from koi's backstory)
