By my analysis, Typhoon Surigae (known by PAGASA as Bising) is nearing Category 4 status. The storm has winds of 125 mph and a pressure of 949 mb. The storm has intensified faster than I was expecting, and will pass closer to the Philippines that I was expecting as well. Although an eyewall replacement cycle may hinder intensification, a category 5 is anything but out of the question at this point.
