Ok, so some- err, a LOT of people might have noticed, I’ve been quite inactive. And, here’s why. 1: school. I went back to in-person school recently, and I’ve been very busy. I have after school activities every day after school except for 1 day. 2: Maple. Maple is a young mouse. We found her 2 days ago in the middle of the walking path, and we thought she wasn’t alive. Then, we saw her twitch. She could barely move. We carried her to the side of the path because we hoped her mother could find her. The next day, we came back with a towel in case she was still there, so we could carry her home and help her. She was still there. So, I carried her home. We didn’t think she would even make it on the short walk home. She was shivering so hard, and could barely breathe! She made it home, though, and we made her a little house. We warmed her up, and let her rest, and our mom brought a syringe so we could give her water. She drank some water, and ate a tiny bit. We named her Maple because she loves eating buds from maple trees! We didn’t think she would make it through the night, but she did, just barely. In the morning, she was very weak, but since mice are nocturnal, we let her sleep a bit more. We didn’t know if she would even be alive. Later in the morning, we gently woke her up, and let her stretch her legs in our yard. We gave her some water, and she ate a bit of food. She is still very weak, but improving. She was playing with a toilet paper tube in her space, and, she even sat on my hand and climbed up my arm! It was amazing. We are not keeping her forever, just until she is ready to be released. She is still pretty unstable on her feet, but her breed of mouse is born in June-July, so she had a few months with her mother, then went into hibernation, and apparently, her breed wakes up in April so... but, it just snowed unexpectedly, so that probably really shocked her! When we found her, she was curled up into a tiny ball, and could barely move, she was so cold! She is slowly getting better, but she is still very weak. She might now even make it to tomorrow... we started taking care of her yesterday, so we’ve been busy. It’s been tricky, because we have 2 cats and a dog- so- in the project are some pictures of her! You can ask any questions! I’ll add in a lot of Maple photos! She is very sweet, and not at all aggressive. She is not shivering anymore, and is eating a bit. She’s been drinking, which is really good!
Since I’m gonna be pretty inactive, I’ll try and update everyone on Maple, but I might now be very active. Hope you understand! :) Click for the next Maple photo :3 Me and my sister, @musical-potato are going to be pretty inactive, I’m really sorry. :< Ok, photos. 1! Our dad holding Maple! 2! Adventurous Maple exploring a yogurt container! 3! Maple in the first little house thingy we made her, she no longer uses that one. 4!
