This is a mess... SO! I had an amazing idea that I shall now attempt to share, but will probably do a bad job explaining! The idea is a story, comic, or rp. Literally anything, set in this world. I'm calling this thing "Pixelized". The basic concept isn't particularly original: people trapped in a digital world. But there's less aspects of it being digital here I guess? It's still virtual but you wouldn't know, because it pretty much works the same as regular life in that you don't take damage based on hit points, but actual injuries with bl00d and pain and everything just like real life. Of course there's still aspects of magic, superhuman abilities, etc. And it isn't just "you can't log out" or "your consciousness is stuck". Your body literally was "Pixelized" and you are now here inside the game. Forever. The aim isn't "get out" this is your reality now. You are considered missing or d3ad in the real world. Though you do have your memories. The way you got in was you were offered a free download of the beta of one of four games, which make up the four sectors, created a character, and clicked "Start". The minute you clicked "Start" your saw a blinding light and felt a burst of pain and you woke up in spawn with all the attributes of your character but your body. Like, outfit and hair and abilities are what you chose, but your body got sucked in instead of your consciousness into the character? So if you created a tall, buff character with short pink hair and a sword, and irl you are short and skinny, you will be in your usual short skinny body, but with short pink hair and a sword. These games seemingly came from nowhere, and this world seems to be some sort of alternate reality. The four sectors are separated by forcefields/boundaries, but connected by the hub. You can't enter another sector without creating a new character for that game, as in still your body but with a different character type suited to the game. (example: You are an archer in sector one, the fantasy sector, but want to go to sector 3, the futuristic sector. You have to become one of the sector 3 classes, and leave all of your items at the hub. So you become a cyborg gunslinger and enter sector three. When you return to sector 1 you leave your sector 3 stuff and become an archer again. You can only have one character per sector.) There are a few breaches, or "backdoors", that some characters can find and slip through to avoid the hub and keep their items, classes, and forms in the other sectors. These are smugglers and general criminals, and if they're caught by the "bots" (the programs that make sure rules are followed that appear as the police) they can be punished in several ways, some of which are irreversible. You can form parties with a few other players, or guilds. There are several classes you can play in each sector, as well as several skills and abilities you can have. You can respawn when you d1e, but you will be completely stripped of everything and you will always respawn in your "home sector" (the one you started in). The main issue: the "bots" are crazy essentially. The punishments for rule breaking have gotten more severe, and then it stopped being rule breaking punishments. There's something wrong with the code, and now the bots are broken. They don't bother the npcs, but players are a different story. Rules don't matter anymore, it's not about that anymore. It's simply a hunt for the players. If they catch them they act as if they'd been caught breaking a rule, going through the levels of severity each time they're caught until they reach the final level. Banned. THAT is the way your character d1es for real, and there aren't many players left. Someone has to find a way to fix the broken bots, by getting to the REAL hub of the game where the code is stored and finding the broken code and repairing it (it's more of a physical thing since you're inside the game, like something's cracked) and stop the bots from k1ll1ng everyone. Tell me what y'all think? Obviously it needs polishing because I just sort of dumped every concept I had onto here, but does it sound good in theory?
