(FYI, this story is narrated by me :3) (This is short) I was a person in the village doing alright. Granted, I wasn’t very popular, lived in a small house, ate plain oatmeal for breakfast, and had no friends, looking back, my life didn’t look so alright. But that wasn’t the important part. But my life changed one fateful day. It was cloudy and cold that day, just another indicator of my terrible life. My mom was out at work, at least that’s what I thought. That’s when I heard a knock at the door. Now, mother always told me to never open the door to strangers. But instead of listening to her, I walked up to the door and asked “Who is it?” “Open the door, Ms. Noey,” a person answered. “Who is this? How do you know my name? Am I in trouble?” I asked, getting scared. “Told you she wouldn’t listen,” another person said. Just then, the door opened, as if they had the key, and I saw the two people, one wearing glasses and one wearing a striped shirt. “How did you open the door?!” I asked, appalled. Person With Glasses started to speak, when Person With The Striped Shirt spoke instead, “We had a key, obviously” “What are you doing here? How’d you get a key? Am I in trouble?” “Well, you see, your mom started dating the king and now they’re engaged and you’re going to be a princess and live in the castle with us, your new best friends.” Person With Glasses said. I started laughing, “Great joke, you must be friends with my next door neighbor, they love playing jokes on me! Tell them that I’m tired of this and that they better stop it.” But they weren’t laughing, they stared at me like I had two heads. “No, we’re serious, pack your bags.” Person With Glasses said. “Am I still in trouble?” I asked, laughing nervously. “Elliot, I don’t think she gets it,” Person With The Striped Shirt said, “What do we do?” The person who I assumed was Elliot shook their head, “Let’s wait in the expensive car, Wesley. All rich and royal people have expensive cars.” “Agreed, the driver for the expensive car can wait,” Wesley said. I watched as they walked towards a very expensive car. Indeed, it was very expensive. I knew that an expensive car with a driver who could wait all day was a sign that it wasn’t a prank, but then again, my neighbor had connections. I decided to humor them. “Can I pack my bags later?” I yelled. “Yeah, get in the car!” They both yelled. “Great prank, neighbor, real funny.” I muttered as I made my way towards the expensive car with the driver who could wait all day.
