1992 comes up once more for another Category 5 storm that year. Well-forgotten now as it's nestled in the South Pacific, it was CYCLONE FRAN. The 1996 reincarnation of Fran in the Atlantic would overshadow this one, but Fran here was still a menace. It was a direct Category 5 impact to Vanuatu and surrounding regions, allowing the nation to sustain heavy losses.
