** PRESS SPACE TO ROLL THE DICE! ** Other instructions are in-game, but for an alternate explanation: -- You're competing against other players to collect enough green dragons to use the power of the Gold Dragon against them. Spaces are like Mario Party rules, mostly. This game isn't mobile friendly currently, could change if I feel like adding compatibility.-- Additional Controls: - Z and X to switch between the main board backdrop and a key that tells you what each space does. - If you want to fool around with settings or set a Sudden Death handicap where everyone starts with 7 Dragons, the 7 Handicap key is W, and Q is to add spaces to your turn after the roll. I used these as testing hotkeys, but decided to leave them in. Try not to spoil the fun of the main game with this on your first time, though. ;) A potential question: "Is there no CPU play? Do I need four people for this?" Technically, you don't. You could just play as each character while trying to win as each character too, if you don't have extra people to play with. I didn't have the time or knowledge to understand how to program AI behavior, but if anyone ever wanted to remix my game and take the time to add that, they're welcome to. Also not planning on adding Cloud Data play, that would be too complex for me.
Surprise upload!!! :D =CHANGELOG= * 5/13/21: The game would break if anything other than 1, 2, 3, or skip was entered when activating the gold dragon. Changed the code to a "not 1, 2, or 3" system instead. * 4/29/21: Small change was made. One of the red spaces on the top row was changed to a +2 space to hopefully improve the pace of the game and increase the speed in which players earn dragons. One of my regrets with the final product is how slow the game can be, despite changing the speed of certain elements throughout development. Also, not enough interesting gimmicks or unique assets, most were taken right from Scratch. That said, this WAS for just a school assignment. =NOTES= This is an original board game I finished last night for a Game Design class I'm taking in college, although it didn't actually have to be made in a program, most students made theirs on paper. I thought this was better though, even if more work. Eh, oh well. Enjoy! Believe it or not, this game only took about 3 nights to code. One night might've been 4 hours, the second was 6 hours, and last night was from 11pm-3am. So in short, this only took about 14 hours to make! :3 Most of the assets were either drawn in Scratch or taken from Scratch's stock library. The dragon sprites were taken from Runescape, I believe. UPDATE: man, apparently I just found out there already exists a board game called Seven Dragons. I don't remember seeing that last time I checked. I mean, this game is non-profit and on a kids site, shouldn't matter. That said, I might try to change the name of the game at some point to "Green Dragons" or something like that, as that's not taken.
