This is Belgium - The Untold Tale, a standalone mapping project that I've been working on for a while. In this mapping project, you see the world through the eyes of Belgium. You only know what Belgium knows and if Belgium ceases to exist, you see nothing. I've had this simple idea in my head for a while, and when SMK said we should do a mapping challenge, I finally decided to make it. The challenge was only supposed to be one week long, yet it has taken me roughly four months to finish this. Oh, and if you're wondering, I'm pretty sure the challenge is canceled. This mapping project was intended to use creative effects to make a unique atmosphere and feeling. I used three types of effects (map, terrain, and coastline) to make an old-fashioned-looking map. I also added certain details to the textbox, like bullet holes and barbed wire, along with countryballs with eight different expressions to add a sense of flair and originality to my mapping project. I also used the official names of the countries portrayed in the project. In terms of plot, this project is really basic, with a simple and unrealistic plot and no actual mapping, however, the main focus of this project was to create an atmosphere, so I wasn't too focused on the plot. In this project I was attempting to only use a small number of countries whilst still managing to tell a half-decent story. The countryballs helped provide emotion. If you spot any errors, please don't hesitate to point them out to me, but for once, I don't need feedback, because I'll probably never make anything like this ever again. There will not be a sequel to this.
Thanks to @FNAFfunny for the transition script (again). The music is by Whitesand on YouTube and can be found at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jn-pOgxHkaE&ab_channel=Whitesand. MAJOR SPOILERS BELOW: Clarifying a few things. No, nothing Germany said was true, except for the year. France and Belgium had a slight misunderstanding because Belgium thought what Germany said was true and saw France as the aggressor in the situation. Germany's plan was to get Belgium to convince France to surrender to Germany. And of course, how does this story truly end? That is for you to decide. Perhaps Germany's plan worked, and Belgium will never live again, or perhaps the Netherlands managed to warn Belgium in time. Either way, the ending is up to you to decipher. Thank you for watching this project, and I hope you enjoyed it. Next up will be something special. :)
